New Range Protocol

25th June 2020

Hello Members,

It is with pleasure that we can announce the reopening of our range after the forced closure due to COVID 19 restrictions. The range will re-open on Saturday 4th July at 0900 hrs. As you can imagine, we will be limited to 10 shooters on the firing line at any one time. All shooters will be able to shoot at least two cards each, or two details. At this stage we will be taking bookings during the week via email admin@nsbarc.org.au or phone/text on 0447221710. Prioritising attendance will be based on the principle of equity across the membership whereby all club members will have the opportunity to attend over time, rather than first in best dressed. No standing week to week bookings will be accepted as we need to be fair to all members. The club will only be open one day per week. Saturday one week, Sunday the following, thus giving those who work Saturday’s a chance to shoot the next Sunday. There will be a number of precautions required to remain COVID 19 safe and protect our valued members. Members will have their temperature’s taken at the door, anyone who has a temperature of 37.5 degrees or higher will be asked to remain outside for 10 minutes and temperature retaken. If you then fail the temperature test a second time you will be asked to leave the range and seek medical advice. Members that pass the temperature test will be asked to fill in a form to attest to their lack of symptoms and their general wellness. These measures are necessary for us to re-open, and will be undertaken every time you attend the range. Failure to comply will mean you will be asked to leave the range proper. We ask any member who is unwell to please refrain from attending the range until they are well. Hand sanitizer will be provided, and members are asked to make use of this as often as needed. All benches will be cleaned and disinfected after each shooter has used them, ready for the next shooter. These actions will take time, we ask everyone to be patient and understanding during this difficult time. Social distancing will be enforced on the range and we ask anyone who wishes to have a chat to do so in the car park area. There will be no sharing of equipment between shooters unless they are family members. The canteen will be closed and therefore no tea or coffee facilities available for obvious reasons. We ask anyone who wishes to have a cuppa to bring their own with them and not to share cups or spoons with others.

Your committee realises that these restrictions are difficult for everyone, but please bear in mind that it is especially hard for your committee members as they are the people assigned with carrying out and enforcing these rules, your cooperation and understanding will be most welcome and expected. We hope that with everyone’s help and cooperation, things will improve, and numbers will increase over time. There has been a lot of work done by certain committee members to get us to this point. We are in a solid financial position thanks to these committee members and your backing as members, let us work together to keep things rolling in the right direction. I look forward to seeing you all at the range over the following weeks, in the meantime please stay well.

Regards,

Warwick Webb President NSBRAC.

Suspension of Range Activities

The Committee, after careful consideration of the daily reported increases of COVID-19 cases in New South Wales, have decided effective immediately to suspend all activities at the Range for the next 2 weeks.

Given the average age of members the Committee is taking this situation seriously and are putting our range volunteers & valued members health, wellbeing and safety first.

After this 2-week period, the Australian public will also have a clearer idea how quickly COVID-19 is spreading and the Committee will again review the suspension of activities at the Range and members will be notified.

We welcome any constructive feedback from our members regarding this situation.
