Come and Try

COME AND TRY SESSIONS ARE TEMPORARILY POSTPONED, PLEASE CHECK BACK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

You can come to the range and try out shooting without a licence or any equipment. You will be shown how to hold, load, sight, fire and then how to calculate your score. Once you are finished you can take your target home with you as a souvenir.

  • Minimum age is 12 (Under 18 years will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult)
  • Photo ID proof of identity required
  • Fully closed shoes should be worn
  • Bookings and prepayment are essential – Please see calendar, complete this form and email captain@nsbarc.org.au with your preferred date.
  • The cost per person is $60 which includes Rifle Hire, Targets x 2 and 75 rounds of ammunition.
  • Come and try sessions run from 11am till 1pm.

Want to Shoot Regularly?

You can apply for a firearms licence online with a Service NSW account. This will be for Category A for the purpose of Sport Target Shooting. To complete an online firearms application, you will need:

  • A MyServiceNSW Account linked to the NSW Police Force,
  • Firearms Safety Training Statement of Attainment,
  • Supporting documents for your Genuine Reason (proof of a current membership of NSBARC), and
  • A credit card for payment of the licence fee (if applicable)

Your firearms licence application will be processed after a 28-day cooling off period and when approved by the NSW Firearms Registry you will receive notification by mail to attend your nearest Service NSW office to pay for your licence and have your photo taken.

Costs

  • Using a NSBARC club membership as a genuine reason, full membership in NSBARC is $230 / p.a.
  • Firearms Safety Training Course is approx. $150 for adults and approx. $90 for Juniors (12-18 years)
  • Service NSW photo licence 2 years $100, or 5 years $200
